The GCCCG offers a variety of cultural and sports clubs for the Chinese community of Guelph. Details about the clubs are listed below. We welcome everyone to join.
Requirements and Process for Clubs to Apply for Membership to the GCCCG
1. The club voluntarily applies for membership in the GCCCG.
2. Clubs should first check whether the GCCCG already has similar clubs. In general, two similar clubs will not be duplicated, but expansion and reorganisation may be considered.
3. The club must not be for profit and its activities must be permanent. The club must have a minimum of two specific organisers or leaders.
4. The club will submit a written application to the GCCCG, which should include the purpose of joining the Chinese Cultural Association, the content and form of the club's activities, the number of existing members, membership fees and development plans.
5. After the application is received, a board member will contact the club to learn more about it. Within 1-2 weeks from the date of receipt of the application, the GCCCG will respond to the club.
6. The board member will present his/her understanding of the club to the board, who will discuss and vote. At least 60% of the board members must vote in favour of the club joining the GCCCG in order for the application to be accepted.
7. The club is responsible for bearing the costs of daily activities.
8. If the club voluntarily organises a large-scale event or competition in the name of the GCCCG, the Group will assist the club in organizing it and provide volunteers as well as partial financial support.
