The Guelph Chinese-Canadian Cultural Group (GCCCG) was founded in the 1990's. It is made up of Chinese people and other ethnic groups who work, study or live in Guelph, and its members include over 150 families.
The purpose of the GCCCG is to promote and pass on Chinese culture, establish a platform for contact and communication among Chinese people and with mainstream society, promote information exchange and services, enhance the cohesion, popularity, and influence of Chinese people in Guelph, and enrich and facilitate the life of Chinese people.
In addition to four annual large-scale events celebrating the Chinese New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, and New Years, the Group also participates in voluntary activities and multicultural festivals in the city and organizes various forms of activities and clubs in accordance with the wishes of its members.
